My Personal Anthology
Freedom has a different definition for everyone. It is about the viewpoint that you have. Some believe that freedom is a feeling but I think it is physical as well. Freedom means more than just doing what you want, it is the right that you have for saying something or achieving a goal. As I said before, it is all about your viewpoint. Everybody has a different political or religious belief. My perspective of freedom is the fight that you have for your belief. It might be different for anyone else and everyone should respect these differences.
This personal anthology is a collection of short stories, poems, non-fiction, art and music that expresses the viewpoint that I have about freedom.
In the short stories “Colorless Tiger" and "Moses," we get two different ideas of freedom. In the first story a tiger fights for his freedom in a different way. This story is proving the things I have said before. Everyone has a different style and idea for having their freedom. We don’t have to understand it, just respect it. Moses is particularly true in my opinion that’s way I defined it as a non-fiction story.
The three poems I've chosen are "EMANCIPATION," “My FREEDOM," and " The Freedom of the Moon." The first two poems are kind of like my idea of freedom. Robert Frost poems always make me feel better. I was looking for poems and the minute I saw a Robert Frost I decided to put it. Finding poems about freedom was not hard, the hard part was filtering. The other two poems are from Emily Dickinson and Glamorous Enigma. I was looking for passions and strong feelings or fun in my poems. I am glad that I found poems of these two styles.
The non-fiction text and song lyric (with related video) I've chosen for the anthology makes a great conclusion. The non-fiction text called "Hell on Earth" tells the fight that a person that could give for freedom perfectly. If anyone restricts the freedom of another person the response wouldn’t be different in any other place. I believe fighting for the freedom is an instinct. You can’t blame any of the Tibetans. I agree Dalai Lama. The song was hard to decide. U2 had really nice songs about my topic but I had to choose one and I felt like this was the right one. The lyrics of "Freedom" are meaning something to me just like the poems. While reading the poems or listening this song I can’t find anything to change in in. If I was the writer of any of those art pieces I would have wrote the same.
Finally, the four art pieces I've chosen all relate to my theme: freedom, only things does matters. Those four men did fight for their freedom and it is something to envy. The main point is not whether or not they were successful; it is going after something what you believe.
I hope you enjoy this personal anthology and it makes an affect in your belief of freedom. I would like to help whose not as lucky as me about his or her freedom from this site, the size of the help is not important, the main point even helping someone because a person could change the whole world. “Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared”. ~Buddha
